My first yoga experience was with an Eric Schiffmann and Ally McGraw DVD and I have been hooked ever since! My regular yoga practice helped me manage long-term PTSD and the lingering anxiety associated with it. I have practiced several different styles of yoga, including Kripalu and Hot Yoga 26, but lean towards a more mindful, alignment based Vinyasa practice.
I completed the Kids Yoga Training in 2009, at Yoga Haven and am a graduate of the Quest Yoga Arts training program, where I studied under Wendy Hagen, ERYT 500 hour and Laura Jensen, ERYT 200 hour. More recently I completed Restorative Teacher Training under Cyndi Lee through Yoga International.
I am recently retired from Corporate America, where I first introduced yoga to my fellow colleagues, shortly after completing my training. I continue to teach and advocate for wellness in the workplace. It is important for employees to take regular breaks, while finding ways to reduce stress and anxiety levels. I believe it is equally important for their employer to support that process and provide those opportunities. Since yoga helps to increase productivity and promote a healthy work/life balance, this is a “win/win” for everyone! Over the last five years, I have introduced yoga to various youth organizations and donated time to teach at several schools. Beginning in the 2019/2020 school year, I was contracted to work with the Bedford Central Elementary School system to help teachers bring yoga into their classrooms. Before COVID 19, I was also teaching kids yoga at a local parochial school. Additionally, I teach small group classes in our home based studio. I work with people of all levels of ability & age and tend to bring a sense of playfulness to my classes.
My mission is to create a safe and friendly community where everyone feels free to explore the healing power of yoga. Where individuals can reach new levels of personal and spiritual development; while finding their own state of balance, inner peace, joy and light.
